    WHERE & WHEN?

    October 12th-15th

    We will arrive in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
    Tanzania's most prominent city in arts, fashion, media, music, film and television. Formally called "Mzizima" (Kiswahili for "healthy town") has it was a coastal fishing village on the periphery of Indian Ocean trade routes in the 19th century.

     

    WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

    • Meet and greet over Swahili breakfast + welcome dinner dance
    • Explore Dar es Salaam's biggest and busiest local market, Kariakoo
    • Enjoy fine dining at a secret location
    • Participate in a Farm to table experience
    • Explore Swahili culinary history

    Road Trip to Selous Game Reserve
    Located in southern Tanzania and far from the madding crowds, it is Africa's largest game reserve and one of our favorite wildlife viewing areas. It really is a hidden gem! The rivers and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood of a park that hosts some fabulous game, including elephant, wild dog, buffalo, hippo, crocodile and fantastic prides of lion.

     

    WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

    • Enjoy a very scenic and diverse journey to Selous National park
    • Meet local communities on your way to National park
    • Explore nature and the wildlife on a safari game drive
    • Relax on a campfire, dinner + entertainment by Masaai Warriors.
    • Go on walking safari + bushman village tour
    • Discover the history of food gathering and its medical purposes.
    • Road trip back to Dar es salaam

    October 16th-21st

    Lastly hop on a Ferry to Zanzibar
    The land of spices and beautiful white sand beaches. In particular, the islands produce cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper.

     

    WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

    • Indulge in history, island exclusion, local market.
    • Enjoy the sunset on the Indian ocean over dinner and live music
    • Spend the morning at the famous spice plantation.
    • Explore Zanzibari nightlife with sounds of Tarabu (Zanzibar's traditional music) and street food.
    • On Impact day, you will meet with students and share about career paths/ stories all in hope of inspiring and encourage them to explore beyond.
    • Relax on the beach + beach Activities
